Judging

Judging will take place at the Nichols level using outside judges who review each anonymous piece. Grades K-2 will be judged in the Primary Division and grades 3-5 in the Intermediate Division. Works are scored on "Interpretation of Theme" (50%), "Artistic Merit & Creativity" (30%), and "Mastery of Medium" (20%). Be sure to describe how your work interprets the theme in your Artistic Statement.

Awards & Recognition

Judging and recognition occur locally, and students progress through regional, state, and national levels. Recognition is the focus of the program, and there are many ways student artists are celebrated.  All entries at Nichols are celebrated and recognized!
